Childhood Rights Protection Mission Uganda (CRPMU) is a Ugandan non-profit organization established to contribute to the protection, promotion and advancement of children's rights and wellbeing.
We exist because children need more than promises of protection. They need safe environments, informed communities, access to support, opportunities to learn and develop, and systems capable of responding when their rights are threatened.
CRPMU brings together people, communities, institutions and partners around practical child-focused action.
Our work is centred on children, but our approach recognizes that sustainable child protection depends on the wider environment surrounding every child.

Childhood is fundamental to the development of every human being.

Yet across communities, children can experience circumstances that threaten their safety, dignity, development and opportunities.

These may include:

- Violence and abuse

- Neglect

- Exploitation

- Child labour

- Trafficking

- Poverty and deprivation

- School exclusion and dropout

- Disability-related barriers

- Early and forced marriage

- Discrimination

- Hunger and malnutrition

- Limited access to healthcare

- Family instability

- Conflict and displacement

- Digital risks

- Lack of awareness of children's rights

Many of these challenges are interconnected.
A child who cannot access education may become more vulnerable to exploitation. A child experiencing poverty may face barriers to healthcare. A child experiencing violence may require protection, psychosocial support and appropriate legal or social intervention.
CRPMU therefore takes a holistic approach to childhood protection.
We seek to understand the circumstances surrounding children and work toward practical, coordinated and sustainable responses.

CRPMU was founded around a simple conviction:

Protecting children requires collective action.
Governments, families, communities, schools, professionals, civil society organizations and children themselves all have important roles to play in creating safer and more supportive environments.
Our purpose is to contribute to that collective effort by bringing knowledge, community action, advocacy, partnerships and practical initiatives closer to the people and places where children live.
We believe that prevention is as important as response.
We believe that children should be protected from harm while also being given opportunities to learn, participate, develop their abilities and shape their futures.
